In his introductory remarks, Mr. Gates plans to address the important achievements for development in 2015 (SDGs etc), the much welcomed sustained support by the Netherlands in areas of joint priority with the foundation (GFATM/Gavi and Global Fund, SRHR, agriculture, nutrition and sanitation, as well as R&D and effective partnerships with the private sector) and the role of ODA going forward (SDG implementation) – also in view of a changing development landscape (innovations, partnerships, finance). He will also address the upcoming 5th replenishment of the Global Fund to fight HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria (GFATM). The following discussion with members could also address the Dutch EU Presidency (development priorities) and a general discussion about the refugee crisis.

    De heer Gates zal eerst een korte inleiding houden over het werk en de vooruitzichten van de Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Hij heeft aangegeven verder te willlen te willen spreken over de onlangs aangenomen 'sustainable development goals', inclusief de rol van innovatie en de particuliere sector, en verneemt graag de mening van de Kamerleden over de discussies en vooruitzichten in Nederland met betrekking tot internationale ontwikkelingssamenwerking.
