E-mailprocedure : Verzoek gesprek UNDP Administrator d.d. 2 juli 2021

Geachte leden,
 
De Administrator van de United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), dhr. Achim Steiner, is voornemens een bezoek te brengen aan Nederland op vrijdag 2 juli a.s. Tijdens dit bezoek zou dhr. Steiner graag een ontmoeting hebben met leden van de commissie BuHa-OS, om u te informeren over wat UNDP doet op het gebied van COVID-19, de samenwerking tussen UNDP en Nederland, en de strategie van UNDP en dhr. Steiner, die onlangs opnieuw benoemd is als Administrator, voor de komende vier jaar.
 
Graag verneem ik uiterlijk donderdag 24 juni 12.00 uur of u instemt met de organisatie van dit gesprek en of u hierbij aanwezig kunt zijn (incl. eventuele voorkeur voor gesprek in ochtend of middag). Het gesprek zal fysiek plaatsvinden, in het gebouw van de Tweede Kamer.

I am writing to inform you that the UNDP Administrator, Achim Steiner, will be in the Hague on 2 July, in the context of his trip to Europe to attend a series of G20 meetings. He would be delighted at the opportunity to engage with the members of the Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Committee of the House of Representatives to brief on UNDP’s work on shared priorities, including climate change, preventing and addressing conflict, governance, and addressing the socio-economic impact of COVID-19. He would also like to brief the Committee on results achieved in partnership with the Netherlands.
 
As Mr. Steiner has been recently confirmed for his second mandate at the helm of UNDP, he would also like to seize this opportunity to outline his priorities for the next four years. He would be interested to hear the MPs perspective on the United Nations, including its international development work, and in particular the UNDP and the strategic partnership with the Netherlands.
 
I would highly appreciate your assistance in seeking the MP’s availability for a meeting on Friday, 2 July.
